Disabling right mouse click
Probably the single-most annoying thing that so-called “webmasters” do is to disable the right mouse click. Is that ever goddamned annoying. I was just on some fucking webpage where I tried to right click, and it popped open a little javascript alert box that said “Are you trying to steal my work?”
It’s like, HEY ASSHOLE! YOUR WORK SUCKS! Usually I’m right clicking on a page to open a link in a new window via that menu. Or else I’ll be looking at the source code, or placing a desktop shortcut to it (I don’t use bookmarks) so I can come back later.
And here’s a news flash for anybody who thinks disabling the right mouse click “protects your work”. There are a million other ways for me to steal your work if I’m so inclined. If you’re so damned scared of people ripping you off, don’t bother publish it. Just keep it in your little notebook on your nightstand, by your fucking little blue-haired troll dolls and your dream catcher.
