So, I’m basically pleased with my Google AdSense text ads so far. It’s not landing me a ton of money, but it should just cover hosting my site for a year, which itself is fantastic news. If only I was using a cheaper hosting service….
Anyway, I also installed text ads from BlogSnob, which are mediocre but fine. There’s no money transferring between parties with that service. It’s all free. Basically, you just run a javascript that shows ads on your site. When you show X number of ads, you get Y number of credits for your ads to be shown elsewhere. So far my ads have not received any click-through traffic. But it’s only been a couple days, also.
I just found a site with a ton of other listings for different blog text ad services. It’s the most comprehensive resource list I’ve seen like this so far.
Overture, I just found out, also runs ContentMatch, which is their AdSense competitor, I think. But I’ve used them in the past as an advertiser for a company, and I didn’t like them
