diplodocus

the sea bleeds honey. weeds spring wild. bees come to adore you. a diplodocus arranged in laser beams waits munching humbly in the background. i decided i’d crowd before you with all my clones. wait here until winter gave way to wisdom and we could all agree on what to do next. where to go and whom to study under. should we take the way of the leaves and fall backwards through space? try and reconnect us with our roots. offshoots of undetermined fate in an otherwise mechanistic universe. you were all i needed or at least had before me. and oh yes, you were a fragment. and countries fell under your seven-headed star-crowned wrath. a diadem of delightful delusion. mixed in with spiced sugar canes and old oscar husks. awards which shed their skin and became beautiful reptilian disasters. i felt you flutter down like scales. i let you wisk me away like some kind of renegade. a full platoon at our backs. can you even hear me over all the advertising? i yelled. i’d like to go somewhere quiet. unfilled by balloonmen and parchuteers. where the bottles aren’t filled with rockets. and men don’t wear their underwear on the outside of their pants. and they don’t jump off buildings into certain mystery. filigree dungarees. leaves in the mouth of a dinosaur.
