Bush is the leader of a cult.
I came across this Characteristics of religious cults, sects, and alternative religious movements, which is really just a list to other websites, which have some wild stuff on them.
I particularly like this one, from Cults 101: Checklist of Cult Characteristics. My favorite thing here is that pretty much all of these apply EXACTLY and perfectly to the new society that Bush & Co. are forging in the USA. Take a look:
- The group is focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment.
- The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.
- The group is preoccupied with making money.
- Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.
- Mind-numbing techniques are used to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).
- The leadership dictates sometimes in great detail how members should think, act, and feel
- The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s), and members
- The group has a polarized us- versus-them mentality, which causes conflict with the wider society.
- The group’s leader is not accountable to any authorities
- The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify means that members would have considered unethical before joining the group
- The leadership induces guilt feelings in members in order to control them.
There’s a few other ones, but I mean, damn! How clear cut is that? That’s pretty much the Cult of Anti-Terrorism right there! BAM!
