The Sightless Stair
I had two dreams last night which made reference to something called “the Sightless Stair.” According to my dream, this was a “Hebrew legend” and consisted of a direct pathway up to heaven. Sort of like this tunnel or stream of fire which leads up into the sky. Not unlike how UFO’s are sometimes depicted with tractor beams, pulling people up into them.

Except, the two “sightless stairs” that I saw were situated over tops of mountains, and I saw a sort of cartoonized man travel up one from the ground below. Also, according to my dream, the name of the sightless stairs in “Hebrew” is actually (phonetically)”Ne-Shel Va-tye”.
The only website I could find mentioning “sightless stair” was a cached page with a poem on it. Here’s that stanza:
- Graceful steps moving
Tracing upon air,
Wings stretched out, so high
As one cross the sky
Upon sightless stair
I also had this long elaborate dream where it was the 70’s and I was “filming a documentary” for “Bob Dylan”. This coincided at one point with the Sightless Stair, because he had written a song or story which made reference to the legend, and I was filming him in a meeting talking about it with some executives. And nobody knew the reference except for one guy in the group, and then they started singing a sort of traditional childrens’ song about the Sightless Stair. The lyrics had something to do with “the son of Heaven” and partly had to do with the archetypal Ascension of Jesus into Heaven (via the Sightless Stair).
From Acts 1:9-11
- “As they were watching, Jesus was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.” The text then refers to them “gazing up toward heaven while he was going.”
The whole thing is also kind of reminiscent of shamanic ascent to the sky.
