Sometimes, I like to stay in with the latest trends, so I signed up for this blogexplosion thing. It’s supposed to like drive traffic to your yadda yadda yadda. It’s perfectly cromulent, but that’s not really what I wanted to blog about.
What I wanted to blog about is the main problems I see with other people’s blogs:
- Most blogs have the same damn templates everywhere. Spend like 10 minutes to change it into something semi-personal. If I see those stupid blogspot templates one more time I’m going to hurl my computer across the room.
- It’s usually extremely difficult to get a sense for what a blog is all about within just a few seconds. At least give me a little summary or a tagline or something. This problem is really only compounded by the fact that very few blogs are actually about anything at all.
- Lastly, and this should probably be first, most blogs are completely horrible and boring and mind-numbing. This relates back to most blogs not actually being about anything. I mean, how goddamn hard is it to have a thought in your head which isn’t about utterly inane shit?
And the real problem with sites like blogexplosion is that all these people run around and get traffic to their blog. So what? Once you have traffic to your blog, what are you gonna do with it? Who the hell cares? I mean, if you go through all this effort to get traffic to your blog, and then you just have the world’s dumbest things to say, what the hell is the point?
If you ain’t got shit to say, don’t shit on me while you’re saying it.
