So I watched most of the debate. It was the same old bullshit as everybody knows. But I got really mad when Kerry had the one golden opportunity to smash Bush’s brains out on the floor, and he didn’t even use it. What I’m referring to is when Bush spent all this effort to completely cut off the moderator at one point, as he was trying to add on an additional question for the “President” to answer. Instead of allowing him to talk, Bush became increasingly angry and rude until the moderator just shut up. And then Kerry did nothing in response to this outburst.
What Kerry should have said was something like:
- Mr. President, what you just did here with the moderator is what you have done to America and the world your entire presidency. We’ve seen you interrupt comments, criticism and questioning. We’ve seen you shut down reasonable debates about your actions and policies, calling it “unpatriotic” or some such shit. And we’ve seen you not give a shit to what other people think over and over and over, and we’re all goddamned tired of it. All of America, all of the world. We’re not going to let you silence us any more. [Thunderous Applause]
Something along those lines. It would have caused a fucking media sensation.
