The Power of Sound Bites

I just read an excellent article by one of my favorite thinkers, Dr. Renee Fuller, who developed a system to teach severely retarded people, dyslexics and four year olds to read with total comprehension. She has lots of intensely interesting articles which center around the idea that the fundamental unit of human thought is the story (she uses a slightly more technical term, “story engram”).

Anwyay, the article I just read is about sound bites and why they are so successful. Basically, she says that their success lies in the fact that they tell an extremely encapsulated story, and that they mimic the earliest stages of language acquisition in humans. Really good stuff with some interesting theories which I’d like to elaborate on more later.
