I came across this page earlier today whereupon are posted a whole slew of photos of regular Americans holding signs asking for peace and apologizing for the war in Iraq. It looks like the photos were ganked off this activist site. Underneath each photo is what is meant to be some kind of clever or witty remark against these people.
But not a single one made me laugh, smile or even smile on the inside. They are just so fucking weak-minded and poorly written. If you’re going to be this kind of asshole, at least spend some time crafting things which are comedic jewels, so that even people who disagree with you (like me) might be compelled to laugh and realize, “Hey, this is all pretty crazy that this is even happening at all.”
Before anybody responds all half-cocked here, I’m all for the right of people to run around and make fun of whatever they damn well please. Go right a-fucking-head. The world needs more laughing. I’m not trying to say “they can’t do this,” or “they shouldn’t do this,” or “how dare they!” I just trying to say think this is a miserable way to treat people whose only crime is that THEY DON’T WANT PEOPLE TO DIE.
