A genuine Ronex watch

Out of Italy has come a warning from Interpol that consumers ought not to buy counterfit or bootleg products, because it “helps terrorism.” They allege that mafia and terrorist groups sell knock-offs in order to raise cash. While there may be some truth to this, I expect the real problem here is that the companies whose products are being bootlegged are trying an alternate approach to scare people into submission. Same thing happened in the USA when the RIAA started suing 12 year olds and grandmothers for downloading Britney Spears illegally. It’s the classic gasping for breath of a major institution as they struggle to retain control of the brand they created. It’s cute really, that they’re trying to throw this too at terrorism, and see if it sticks, like so much spaghetti on a wall.
