Superman goes loco
One of my favorite all time movie lines is from Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven, where he finally gets into town and goes into that tavern in order to settle the score, and he says:
- Anybody that doesn’t want to get killed best clear on out the back.
I had a dream sort of reminscent of this last night, but much more bizarre. In this dream, it was supposed to be pre-American Revolution. I was inside like some church or meeting house, and there were a blend of people who were native-born Americans and English-born Loyalists. And the really weird part was that there was a guy standing in the front dressed in a sort of old-timey silk Superman costume. And then he made some kind of announcement about how all the Loyalists had to leave or they were going to be killed. Some started to leave, and some stayed, and then he just started shooting the ones who stayed right in the head. It was totally crazy. And then a little girl, during the midst of everything, gave him a coloring book that said “I love you” or something like that on the front of it, and I guess his heart warmed again and he stopped.
Normally, my dreams are equally weird, but much less violent. And what violence there is is usually focused against like weird monsters or space aliens and stuff like that. But every once in a while, one of these bad boys will slip through for whatever reason.
