Weaving words

I never knew this before, but the word “text” comes from the Latin for “texere” which means “to weave, fabricate.” So it’s closely related to the word “textile” which is especially cool. I’ve heard people talk about weaving together stories, “yarns” they call them, but I didn’t know the words were actually etymologically linked as well. They come from a shared Indo-European root “teks-”. It’s also related to the word “technology” which is cool too, because writing and language is most definitely a type of technology in its own right.
