I know I’m a few days late on posting this, but oh well. The IRS has launched an investigation into the NAACP because they made stataments against Bush. Threatening an audit, they are threatening to revoke the NAACP’s status as a non-profit organization, claiming that they are not allowed under their articles of incorporation to make political statements. Which is ridiculous, seeing as the NAACP is for all intents and purposes a political organization. Let’s not forget also that Bush refused to meet with the NAACP at all.
People are saying that the IRS has never before invoked this clause against any other organization. Furthermore, the assholes at the IRS claim that “any suggestion that the IRS has tilted its audit activities for political purposes is repugnant and groundless.” What a steaming smoking pile of monkey shit.
Let’s hear it for tax resistance.
