I just received this letter from a distraught reader.

I want you to know how mistaken you are about the future. The coming of Christ isn’t a myth or something made up to fool people. Christ is coming back and judgement will take place and everyone will be judged. Those who claim to be Christians and non-Christians. I will pray that your eyes will be opened to the truth that Jesus Christ died for you and for us all to give us all a chance to accept him. He give us all a choice and the choice that we make will determine our eternity. I pray you don’t make light of this, because what I am saying is the truth. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man can come to the Father except through him.

I responded that I appreciated her concern and am comfortable with my relationship with “The Lord”, and that I didn’t think Jesus was invented to trick people, but that he has consistently been used to do just that by unscrupulous groups and individuals throughout history, and in the modern world as well.
