I always forget that this sort of thing still goes on. Maybe not in the progressive United States of America, but in India and other countries. I’m talking about persecuting witches. Actually, I’m talking about women getting killed merely on the suspicion of witchcraft. Seems that in some rural areas, when disease or misfortune strikes, it’s still common for people to start looking around for a scapegoat in the form of a “witch”. The government has tried to curb this problem for years, using street plays to educate people, but with very little success. In this one area alone, 93 suspected witches have been killed in the past five years.
