Source of authority in religion
Wikipedia’s entry on religion has a section about sources of authority which comprise religious traditions that I kind of like. I might try to expand on these some:
- Sacred Texts
- Prophets
- Science & Reason
- Personal Experience
- Tradition
Obviously, “science & reason” is the odd-man-out here - but that’s because they are trying to include atheism and secular humanism in their explanation of religion. Anyway, I’ll come back to this later, especially in terms of authenticity & source.
