I just came across a site where if you enter in a URL, it will analyze that page for the most frequently used words in that page. It’s pretty interesting and I applied it to this page also. Of course, most of them are words like “he, she, are, is,” just words that don’t really indicate anything at all. But you can filter out words like that, and start getting down to the goods.
Here’s a list of the words that I filtered out on my site:
- a the but i or and of it he she her his on in an into some how more what other one were about have you was with they are which this that for from their would not like also just all these permalink when who really its will them through can there i’m another most has then even it’s him any between too i’m
The site could be a little better designed… It’s actually a little bit of a hassle to whittle down these words that don’t really indicate anything. But once I did, I found out that these are the most popular words on this current page:
- 1. people
2. stories
3. story
4. think
5. religions
6. jesus
7. religion
8. book
9. read
10. whole
11. look
12. consciousness
13. mind
14. god
15. polytheistic
16. part
17. way
18. faith
19. christianity
20. idea
It’s funny how it really cuts to the heart of what you talk about the most in a sort of weird way. While we’re at it, you may as well check out the less interesting but entertaining Gematriculator which uses an arcane system of numerology to determine how evil the text on your site is. According to that, this front page of my site is 32% evil and 68% good. And then there is the “Gender Genie” which is an algorithm that’s supposed to be able to determine if entered text was written by a male or female. It correctly guessed I am a male. Big deal. Anyway…
