Somebody’s Occult Wiki

While I was gone, I received a bunch of email through the site about various things that I haven’t had a chance to follow up with. I’ll probably wade through these and put together a series of posts on them. Some are more interesting than others.

First off, somebody named Chris Gutteridge just sent me a link to an occult-themed wiki. I guess they thought I’d be interested, since I posted a while back about how I wanted to start one of my own. Haven’t gotten a chance to do that myself yet, but I’d still like to.

The one they sent me is called SourceryForge, which I think is supposed to be a take-off of that open-source software site called SourceForge. This play on words might be more successful if it used the more common spelling of “Sorcery” without the “u”. But then, now that I look at the person who sent it’s email address, I guess they are from the UK, specifically from the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. So I guess their use of the “u” in sorcery is because they are British. Good for them, but they need to remember that (1) American’s don’t care how anybody else spells words, and (2) the average American probably has no idea how we even spell “sorcery” over here in the first damn place.

Anyway, the site looks like it uses the same Wiki template as the irrepressible Wikipedia (which actually has a LOT of decent content on occult things). Looks like this SourceryForge site has very little actual content on it yet, which is too bad. It’s difficult with things like this, because I don’t know whether I want to support it at this point or what. It’s a start at least though. I’ll check back sometime. Cheers!
