About a month ago, I posted about a PBS program I saw and was rather bored by, Wayne Dyer’s “Power of Intention”. Some fan of his I guess found what I wrote and sent me what can only be described as an angry letter:

I can see from your comments that you are not ready to listen to the
message. Dr. Wayne Dyers is telling what you need to do. He is giving you clear
instructions on what you need to do:
- Meditate; appretiate the moment; etc. Those are not vague instructions.
“When you know what is lacking in your live, the teacher will come”

Actually, I think that “meditate” and “appreciate the moment” are ABSOLUTELY vague instructions. Not only is it vague, I mean it’s cliche at this point. I also really dislike when people tell me how they “can see that I’m not ready” to do X, Y and Z. Like, oh my god, from reading one post on my website, you suddenly know everything about me, and my spiritual “readiness”. You should take your amazing ability to read people and situations and go to Vegas or something, and stop wasting MY time sending me nonsense.

Fustigation aside though, I’m guessing that the fellow who wrote me this email wrote it because Wayne Dyer’s advice somehow helped him. Who knows how, but that’s cool. I can appreciate that and I recognize that everybody’s in a different place, and some things that reach one person don’t reach another. And that’s just life, so go wild with it. But anyway, this stuff just doesn’t reach me at all. I guess I’m just not “ready” for it.
