Shamans, Aliens & Drug Use

I was thinking some more about this supposed Gnostic correlation between archons and aliens, and how they all sort of act as “celestial mechanics” who are somehow in charge of holding together the fabric of reality or something. But how they don’t really have souls, and how they envy us and are always trying to fuck with us and influence us to become more like them and less human. It’s a pretty cool premise in terms of pure story, and I went into a lot greater detail about it in a previous post.

Entertaining the notion that there’s something to this theory has lead me on an interesting tangent, involving shamanism. I once read a kind of cool article which was comparing UFO/alien encounters and Near Death Experiences (NDE) to shamanic voyages and initiation. People with shamanic abilities traditionally are able to access levels of reality which ordinary people are not able to. In traditional cultures, people who exhibited shamanic traits (sometimes similar to what we’d now call schizophrenia, or other so-called mental illness) or who had spontaneous shamanic voyages & visions would be placed under the tutelage of the local shaman, who would teach them the mental, emotional and spiritual techniques to control their abilities and put them to productive use as a sort of liason between the human and non-human worlds.

That article on UFO’s and shamanism suggests that people experiencing UFO phenomenon often exhibit attributes which might have been labelled shamanic in previous cultures, but which are more frequently seen today as mental imbalances. The way I understand this, then, is that perhaps these people are having spontaneous shamanic voyages and visitations by non-human entities. But rather than receiving traditional spiritual education and training to deal with such events, these people are forced to deal with what’s happening to them on their own, because our culture no longer takes such things seriously. As a result, most alien encounters (modern shamanic voyages) involve a great deal of terror and confusion as these people penetrate to other levels of reality.

I might also add that similar things happen to people who experiment really heavily with drugs, especially psychedelics. These substances effectively put people “out of their depth” in shamanic terms of perceiving other modes of reality. People become plunged farther and deeper than they are really prepared to handle. In other words, you have a “bad trip” or something along those lines. In fact, Aleister Crowley was said to have contacted “Enochian Entities” who look just like grey aliens, one of which dictated to him his famous “The Book of the Law”.

But bringing this back to the whole idea of Gnostic archons, maybe these points where people are in over their head, are points where the archons have an increased ability to influence people and lead them astray. It’s kind of an interesting theory. It makes things like alien-shaped bongs and black-light posters seem much more sinister, to imagine that these entities are laying in wait as you cross into layers of reality you’re not prepared to handle. If this were true, then I’d also wager that things like really deep practice in ritual magick might pose a similar threat as well.
