Computer Shortcuts
All this talk over overlapping moments in time triggered a flash from a dream I had two nights ago. In this dream, I lived in an old house with family. The house was situated at the top of a rather big hill, which was quite a chore to walk up and down. To overcome this difficulty, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to “create a shortcut” in the way that you would do this on a computer desktop. By shortcut, I mean that little thing you can do where like you set up a direct link to a commonly used folder or a program from your desktop (rather than saving the actual program or folder there), and this allows you to bypass having to browse down through your directory tree. Anyway, I was absolutely positive that I could create a set of shortcuts on my computer and drag them out to the real world, so that you could have sort of a portal from the top of the hill to the bottom. I tried and tried to set this up, and they literally looked like little computerized folder icons laying in the grass. But I never could figure out how to make it work.
