Occult FAQ
In an effort to shed a little more light on what I’m all about for people visiting here who are confused or just don’t get it, I’m going to put together a “Frequently Asked Questions” section on my site. I definitely get a particular set of questions over and over again, so maybe this will head some of that off at the pass also. Here are a sampling of some of the questions I’ve cooked up so far. If you can think of any other ones which might be good, or which you yourself would like to see answered, definitely send them my way.
- 1. What are your religious beliefs?
2. Are you a practicing pagan, wiccan or “magickian”?
3. Have you been saved by Jesus?
4. I don’t agree with or like what you said about ________; what can we do about it?
5. I would like to criticize you in an unconstructive manner; is that okay?
6. How and why did you become an occult investigator?
7. What are the roots and influences of your work and approach to this field?
8. How can I become an occult investigator?
9. I am a young person looking to explore professions which are unusual or which include the occult; can you point me in the right direction?
10. Is there a license or school for occult / paranormal investigators?
11. Can I use content from your site in my project?
12. Can I send you a press release about my occult / paranormal movie, book, album, etc?
13. I have a weird / cool idea about ________; can I tell you about it?
14. I’m having trouble with an entity or other phenomenon; what should I do about it?
15. How do you find the time to do this; do you make money as an occult investigator?
16. Is this a joke? Are you really a serious investigator?
17. Why doesn’t your definition of the occult agree with mine? Why don’t you meet my expectations about what an occult investigator should be?
Some of these questions, I actually prefer to leave people in ambiguity. But I’m starting to think that it’d be better to give some people a bit of a leg up as to my real intentions. That way, hopefully they can enjoy it a little bit more or find something useful out of it all.
My favorite is number 5, although I think all of these are going to be really fun to answer. I’m also going to put in leading questions which cover things that I want to do, like “Are you available to investigate a haunted castle in Scotland if we pay all your expenses?” Stuff like that, but not quite so specific or over the top as that. Again, if you can think of any questions for me to add, send them my way.
