Deconstructing Christian Reconstructionism

Oh boy, I wonder how many more emails about this I’m going to get. I wrote a post a few months back about Christian Reconstructionism, and it’s evidently raised some eyebrows. First I got a note from the Director of the Chalcedon Foundation.

I also got a very lengthy detailed email about this today. The thing is, I’m not really interested in debating about this, which seems to be what these people want. They want to draw me out onto the ice, and then dazzle me with the background and foundations of their worldviews. In the interest of giving the other side a “fair shake” (which I’m really not obligated to do at all), I’m going to post what this guy wrote to me about it. I pretty much don’t have anything to say in response though, and I’m not especially interested in getting into a big debate about this. But this guy obviously took a lot of time to try to share information with me, so I do appreciate that.

Actually wait… you know what? I’m not going to post it. If these people want to air their views about returning to Biblical law and instituting theocratic governments, they can go fucking do that on their own websites. I’m not going to be a conduit for their information. And they can sit around and subjugate women and be afraid of gays touching their butts and do all kinds of crazy weird crap that I want no part of.
