Bob Johnson, Occult Investigator
A while ago, I posted about a book I spotted on Amazon called “Occult Investigator: Real Cases from the Files of X- Investigators,” but I was unable to locate the website of the author, Bob Johnson, Occult Investigator. But a day or two ago, somebody from his camp calling themselves R. Moose (presumably him) left me a link to Johnson’s actual website.
Unfortunately, there’s not much on it as far as information. I wish there was more on it, but it seems like the website is mostly put together to promote his book. There are some samples from the book online, but I’m personally of the new school that believes you should put the whole damn thing online if you really want to get it out there. There’s also some photos and some kind of “trailer” that you can download and watch. It seems pretty huge though, since its taking a while to come down.
Johnson also has a page about his credentials and background. I always think its funny when people try to prove they have credentials in this field. Like what does that even mean? Again, my philosophy is that you put your money where your credentials are, give people access to your entire oeuvre and approach, and then let them decide for themselves. Everything else, to me, feels like posturing.
Interestingly, Johnson is affiliated with a normal private investigation firm, and has a PI license or something like that. That’s probably the most interesting of all the stuff listed here, to me anyway. I’m also kind of curious just what his MA in “Metaphysics” from the University of Metaphysics really entails (surprise! it’s not actually an accredited university).
Anyway, I don’t mean to come off like I’m trashing him. Just evaluating and “investigating.” He could be totally awesome, but it’s hard to tell from what’s on his site. That doesn’t necessarily intrigue me into buying his book though. It just makes me think he should freely share more of his knowledge and experience.
