Dead man walking
Just found this article on MSN about how some dude was declared dead in North Carolina, but then later they found him breathing at the morgue. The story’s only interesting to me because it reminds me of a much cooler story that I can’t remember the details to. I’ve heard before that “back in the day” (I forget the time period) they used to have wards where they would put people for a period of time who they weren’t sure if they were dead (like maybe it was comas or something). And they would like attach a bell to them or something. So that if they started stirring, somebody would hear and come check on them. It was supposedly to help prevent live burial which was a problem at the time. Or something along those lines. I’ll have to look around and see if I can re-find that info. Does anybody know what these wards were called? They definitely had a particular name.
