“Legends” of 9/11

I’ve really never been a big fan of this Snopes site. It’s one of those ones that tries to verify or disprove so-called “urban legends.” I find some of their conclusions and “evidence” to be totally shaky and highly questionable. But it seems to be one of those sites that is enormously popular nonetheless. I just found a very elaborate page on their site about different legends that have arisen out of the 9/11 attacks. They are color coded so you can read through quickly and see what’s true and what’s not true. These especially I find highly questionable, despite whatever their assertions are.

One of the ones I find the most striking for some reason is that supposedly they found a pair of severed hands on top of a building near the wreckage, which were bound together with plastic cuffs.

Something they don’t mention, but which I remember them saying plain as day on the radio the morning of September 11th - that an aircraft carrier in Boston had been hijacked. Has anybody else ever heard that? Bret, I think you may have been in the room with me at the time. Does this ring a bell? It was the hip hop station in Baltimore that we heard that from I think. I remember a woman saying it.

Two things that are interesting about Bush: 1) that in February 2002, he was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. This is supposed to be true and is of course laughable. 2) This is not related to 9/11, but in 2000, he declared that June 10 was “Jesus Day” in Texas. Just wait till he declares every day Jesus Day. Or wait, has that already happened.
