Seeing through your eyelids
Sometimes when I lay down to go to sleep, I can just be out within a couple minutes. Other times it takes a super long time, so I’ll try to do different things to relax, etc. I’ve noticed a phenomenon that happens periodically at times like this. I’ll get really relaxed and largely unaware of my body. And then I will “open my eyes” and it physically feels like I’m opening them. I know that I’m not but sometimes the illusion is really complete. And there are times where I can sort of see through my eyelids either into the room or into a dark empty space. Sometimes I feel like I’m able to enter that space, and it’s generally a very positive experience. I’ve looked around about this phenomenon online, and most people are talking about it as a precursor stage to out-of-body experiences. Like the fact that you can see without your physical eyes is part of your astral body splitting away. Who knows though. I’ve yet to find a really good resource on this stuff that I could sink my teeth into. Anyway, does anybody else ever have this “seeing through your eyelids” thing happen to them when they’re trying to fall asleep?
