Just found out about this awesome program being run at a mental institution in Buenos Aires. It’s called Radio La Colifata, which is slang for “Crazy Radio.” It’s some kind of outpatient therapy program for people who have been confined in this institution. Basically, patients get to go on the radio and say whatever they want. It sounds cool as shit. I wish they were doing that kind of thing in the US, or at least in English so I could hear what the hell they are saying. The program has an estimated 12 million listeners, which is immense. Imagine giving that kind of voice to people who are operating outside of the societal norms. Incredible. I think I found the Radio La Colifata website - doesn’t seem to be an English version though.
