I clicked on this New Age Wackos site hoping it would be a funny send-up of people who take themselves too seriously. Instead, it’s actually a perfect example of the kind of misrepresentation I was describing below about alternative non-mainstream religions and philosophical systems.

I overall don’t take offense to this page, but I do think this guy is a moron, because of how strongly he seemed to be enmeshed in mainstream bullshit. Check this passage out:

How has new age benefited humanity? I don’t see a cure for cancer coming from new agers. I don’t see any homeopathic AIDS medicines.

So, by that very same logic, then mainstream medicine is ALSO full of quacks, isn’t it? Seeing as they neither have cures for cancer or AIDS. In fact, if this guy did any research at all, he would find hoards of information about all kinds of alternative cancer and AIDS therapies that have startlingly high success rates - oftentimes much higher than the mainstream medical traditions of pumping people full of poison and radiation to “cure” them. In fact, a good friend of mine has been receiving alternative cancer treatments for years beyond what mainstream doctors said her life expectancy was supposed to be. Wait, if that’s true, how come the AMA (American Medical Association) don’t support these practices? BECAUSE IT MEANS THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY WILL LOSE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY AND PUBLIC TRUST, MOTHERFUCKER! It would be essentially deal a death blow to the entire medical industry. No longer would they be the gate-keepers, holding all the cards in the deck.

And another one that sets me off:

Homeopathy - “Like cures like.” At least that’s what they say. But ask yourself why these drugs have never been approved by the FDA. Quack, quack!

Don’t even get me started about the fucking ridiculous perverse crime-syndicates that are the FDA. These are the same people who when Canada decided to take Adderall off the market last week because kids were spontaneously dying, the FDA reviewed the exact same set of information, and decided it was no big deal. The FDA has NOTHING to do with helping people - it’s a means of maintaining control systems over markets and nothing more. And this guy is calling New Agers wackos.

Admittedly, this guy’s site says that he only cares because people are being swindled by frauds. But guess what, bitch! People are getting their asses handed to them on a platter with gravy the world over in each and every industry and area of human endeavor. If that’s really your target, there are much bigger fish to fry that crystal-wielding psychics.
