New World Border has a highly worthwhile post about the alleged theft of the Matrix movie concept by the Wachowski brothers from a black woman named Sophia Stewart. According to John’s research, this woman put together a comic book or something in the 80’s called “The Third Eye.” According to this, both the Matrix movies and the Terminator movies were explicit rip-offs of this epic story.

Even more interesting than just the sheer fun of an intellectual property lawsuit though is the startling analogy John draws between the creation of the Matrix story, by this woman Sophia Stewart, and the gnostic view of the beginning of the material world, (ie, the Matrix).

She [Sophia Stewart] has imagined this world in the form of a story. Since she alone is not sufficiently powerful to bring this story to life, she submits her story to a party that can make this possible. This ‘male element’ that is necessary for wholeness or completion is represented by the Wachowski’s, who have the ability to translate her world into digestible, tangible media. This accounts for the conception and birth of the demon/Yahweh who took over this world that she imagined and quite literally, now, has trapped her within it.

Well, the Yahweh-kowski Brothers, in their need to deceive those who would learn and achieve gnosis based on their stories, have ruined the sequels and confused their message. This happens in part because of their lack of understanding of the divine and their faith in the ‘flesh’ (kung-fu and guns). It is important to note also, though, that they could not maintain power amongst the other Archons (Joel Silver, Warner Brothers, etc…) if they delivered too much information, too much substance to the viewer. And I must say that the glitz and glamour of the two sequels was more than enough for most viewers.

After shutting out Sophia and creating the world of the Matrix, the Wachowski brothers have now split off into dualistic roles – one becoming female – as if to try to consolidate their powers of being into a more complete self without Sophia.

Word of explanation about that last part… evidently there are rumors afoot that Larry Wachowski is having a sex-change operation to become Linda Wachowski. Anyway, kudos to John and I recommend checking out his post (and blog) if you’re into that sorta thing. I definitely plan on doing more research into this whole thing myself.
