The other day, I wondered out loud about the political view/agenda of the paranormal radio show, Coast to Coast AM. I’ve only been listening to it on and off a couple weeks, but anytime the topic turns to terrorism or politics, I get a bit uncomfortable. My main dilemma is that they are willing to veer off into astronimically far out possibilities paranormally, but not politically.

Anyway, a reader named Nathan gave me some great comments as to the biases inherent in that show.

Well, first of all, both Art Bell and George Noory are white males in their late 50’s, and both were raised at a time when the idea of American Exceptionalism was a given. Neither are comfortable with anything that puts the Empire in too bad of a light, or challenges the mythology too strongly. So Noory brings on guests who are skeptical of the official version of 9-11, for example, but what he comes up with as a personal theory is not “inside job”, but rather, something involving some kind of international secret society or cabal that was working through Bin Ladin to try and bring the United States down. As for Art Bell, in all the time he’s been on the air, dealing with this supposedly forbidden material, not one time, not ever, has he had anyone on talking about the Kennedy Assassination, which in the key to everything if you want to understand deep politics and the creeping fascism and war-mongering we’ve been dealing with for the past 40 years. No way you can avoid the inside job here, so you just ignore it.
