Etemenanki: Turbo-Charged Connection-Making

I wanted to post a little more detailed stuff on that Etemenanki site, which I mentioned a few times in my Schwarzenegger Anti-Christ post.

The first time I checked out that site was a couple months ago. A visitor to my site was frantically recommending it. When I first checked it out, I thought it was pretty interesting, rather overwhelming, and didn’t really go too far beyond that. A month or two later, I saw it again on another recommendation, and something finally clicked.

The site seems to focus around combining symbology, mythology, prophecy and current events into one wild-ass mixture. The author, Goro Adachi, looks at different themes and stories that seem to be occuring in the modern world, and tries to “connect the dots” between them, weaving all these disparate threads into larger narrative tapestries.

There is a really lengthy “About” section which features some good introductory info into the whole project/line-of-thinking.

    What is this website about?

Basically it is about going beyond the accepted realm of ‘reality’ by decoding patterns and symbols of worldly phenomena. Here, the physical world is viewed only as a subset of a greater matrix, a hidden configuration that gives rise to such things as synchronicities and symbolic patterns that we all encounter from time to time even without active interest.

The approach of Etemenanki essentially is to detect, analyze, and most importantly synthesize patterns, weaving them into a coherent tapestry forming a nice ‘big picture’. Through symbolism Etemenanki finds and tracks an intricate ‘dance’, or ‘orchestral’ interaction, between patterns/symbols of today and those of the past, usually involving esoteric, prophetic, or mythological/religious traditions typically of ancient origin.

I also like what he says in this passage near the very end:

Let me point out that symbolism, or allegory, is ‘truer’ than realism in that the former allows more possibilities (or interpretations). And more possibilities – implying greater freedom and less context-dependence – translate to a greater truth. Accordingly, it’s been said that ‘the more numerous the poetic meanings that could be concentrated in a sacred name, the greater was its power’ (Robert Graves).

The Etemenanki website views reality from such an angle and offers transcontextual interpretations of world phenomena. It is an attempt to hack and decode the ultimate ‘game’ we call reality. The website does not claim to give you the truth necessarily, but it at least strives to do what the ’system’ does not want done. The hope is that this will provoke some new thinking and new mentality out there.

The website is really cool, although because of the style of “transcontextual” or “multicontextual” research, it tends to get rather complex and disjointed at times. It seems sometimes like everything and the kitchen sink is getting thrown into the mix. This isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a little difficult to acclimate to at first. Also, all the pieces are really lengthy - which is cool on the one hand, but I also wish there were a lot of shorter chopped up pieces which would allow you to completely grasp certain fragments before you went in and tried to construct the rest.

In any event, I highly recommend checking it out, as it’s a really excellent example of a style of thinking which is so different & denigrated from what we’re normally exposed to. I noticed after doing some reading on it that my normally pretty strong ability to make connections between weird things was sort of “turbo-charged.” Something which I find immensely valuable.

I plan on doing some more posts about/from Etemenanki in the near future, so keep an eye out. I’ll probably do a little bit more of what I described above - carving out specific chunks of data from the site, in order to familiarize myself and you with the bigger pictures that are being outlined there.
