This morning I had a dream about Nazi treasure, a very alluring subject. In the dream, I was with a small group of people on an ocean beach in the middle of the night. I was leading the group in the recovery of what was purported to be several submerged crates of treasure, looted by the Nazis, and hidden here towards the end of the war. We did in fact recover the crates, exactly where I’d expected them to be. They were filled with gold and all varieties of jewelry and other artifacts - magical treasures from around the world. (These magical treasures were also a loose reference to a dream I had last year)

There were also a couple of crates which looked the same, but which had been rigged to explode if improperly opened. It was up to me to identify these booby traps and disarm them. In the dream, merely by identifying them as bombs, they immediately became harmless. They appeared merely as broken down, very old conglomerations of machinery.

To me, this dream has a pretty straight over the plate interpretation. Recovering treasure has to do with coming into contact with valuable psychic energy or contents. The ocean in the middle of the night is most definitely a symbol of the unconscious mind. The Nazis, of course, are a pretty potent magical symbol of evil, or of restriction. So to be recovering treasure which they had stolen and hidden long ago would indicate that the restrictive force they represent had faded into history. Also, since we were operating in the region of Nazis/restrictive forces, it was important that these devices contain traps as well, and that I was able to identify where the traps were, and thus render them harmless.
