For those of you who haven’t stopped by already, I’d like to extend a formal invitation to check out my new blog venture, Story-Systems. There is now a decent amount of information to get your feet wet. From the introduction:
- Traditionally, the stories which have most powerfully shaped cultures and individuals have been religious in nature. The grand narratives of religion have in the past given people a sense of purpose and belonging in some kind of over-arching order. It is a security some still find in traditional religions, while others have found a similar home in secular ideologies.
A great many others, however, search restlessly for some new way to understand, shape and share their lives. What we all seem to agree on is that in an overwhelming Age of Information, we need stories now more than ever to help us construct a framework of meaning and value out of the sea of disconnected bits and pieces flooding our daily lives.
Story-Systems is a model, a set of tools to aid in this quest for meaning. You may use as much or as little of it as feels right for you. It is designed for any seeker with an open mind to gain a deeper insight into the nature of the stories that guide our lives.
This new section of my site will serve as a dedicated grounds for me to further develop ideas which I’ve been following in a much less focused fashion in the past. I’ll, of course, continue writing in this “occult investigator” blog while developing the Story-Systems one. I’m pretty excited about this new project and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
