OurMedia.org: Training Ground for the Media Revolution
Via an article on Wired about podCasting, I just happened across something spectacular. It’s a new site called OurMedia. They will be offering free storage & bandwidth for movies, audio, photos, text and software. For free, forever with no catches. They are operating in conjuction with the awesome Internet Archive and Creative Commons organizations. This also means that they will be using the Creative Commons licenses and promoting more explorative approaches to copyright, etc.
Here’s a link to their press release/mission statement about spurring the “citizens’ media revolution.” This is so awesome, and will be the perfect spot to put up the online radio show I’m planning on putting together in a few months. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Since they save texts as well, this might also be a worthwhile stuff for all of us to back up important documents from our own websites.
