Pinchbeck on Coast to Coast
Tonight, the second guest on Coast to Coast is author Daniel Pinchbeck. Sometimes they have shitty guests, but I’m rather looking forward to this one. I don’t know a ton about him, but what I’ve read I liked. I found a really interesting interview with him a while ago where he talks a lot about aliens, shamanism, drug use and stuff like that. Should be pretty cool.
Also interesting is that last night Art Bell read selections from Kunstler’s “The Long Emergency,” which I haven’t read, but which Ran has been talking a bit about lately. Interesting how all these things come together sometimes. Although I do still wish that Coast to Coast was a bit more subversive with their choice of guests and topics. But I guess they still have to make money and use the media vehicle.
Sue Supriano’s “Steppin out of Babylon” show is a decent example of a show that pushes the boundaries a bit more. It’s not always that interesting, but there are some great guests and interviews. Her shows are also readily available for download on her site, unlike Coast to Coast, which is hidden behind a paid-content shield. At some point, I’d like to start putting together a really comprehensive resource for links to different radio shows on “fringe” topics. I don’t at the moment have a fast connection though, so it’s pretty difficult for me to audition different shows and see what they’re all about. Recommendations are surely welcome.
