[...] Honestly, I wonder if we wouldn’t be better off without the “Church that we all love dearly today.” I’m personally fascinated by the symbolism and theology of the Catholic Church, but the institution itself, I find to be extraordinarily unbiblical. Whether or not the doctrine of Petrine Supremacy, upon which the ultimate authority of the Bishop of Rome lies is an after-the-fact historical forgery and insertion or not is basically a moot point for me. There are better Biblical passages which illustrate the absurdity of having one earthly man (with a *very* sordid past) stand in for a transpersonal figure such as Jesus Christ. My favorite, which I posted to the comments section of that official pope visit site, but which was never approved for obvious reasons comes from the Gospel according to Matthew: 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, [...]

[...] RELATED: Although discussion has raged since this afternoon regarding Benedict XVI and his past Nazi affiliations, I find his present to be slightly more worrisome. As Tim Boucher points out in this blog entry: Ratzinger is also the author of a May 2001 letter to bishops stating that the “Crimine solicitationies” law (regarding strict secrecy in sex abuse cases) is still in effect. The law to which Ratzinger’s letter referred was issued by Pope John XXIII 40 years ago (a link to the PDF of the document can be found in Boucher’s entry). The law itself is chilling, as it describes a mandatory condition of secrecy for both the perpetrators and victims of sexual abuse by Catholic priests. The 69-page Latin document bearing the seal of Pope John XXIII was sent to every bishop in the world. The instructions outline a policy of ’strictest’ secrecy in dealing with allegations of sexual abuse and threatens those who speak out with excommunication. They also call for the victim to take an oath of secrecy at the time of making a complaint to Church officials. It states that the instructions are to `be diligently stored in the secret archives of the Curia [Vatican] as strictly confidential. Nor is it to be published nor added to with any commentaries.’ MORE [...]

[...] So, yay for the new pope right? Actually I give that a big thumbs down. I am not the most religous of people let alone a practicing Catholic, though I am baptized as such, Pope Benedicy seems to not be such a great guy. The whole idea of the Pope just is lame nowadays anyways, but shouldn't this super religous leader be I don't know, not a born killer? I mean, John Paul sold gas to the Nazis but he wasn't a Nazi persay, Pope Benedict served time in a US POW camp that held Nazis for being well, a Nazi. Wierd, huh? The Pope that just passed on was the first to declare antisemiticm a sin and the new Pope well, was antisemetic. (FYI, sorry about the spelling. Not sure how to spell it.) Here are a couple sites Ian sent me and take a look at the Spokesman Review from 4-20. (Hitler's Birthday? Conicidence?)http://www.priestsforlife.org/magisterium/bishops/04-07ratzingerommunion.htmhttp://www.timboucher.com/journal/2005/04/09/cardinal-ratzinger-next-pope-nazi/In other news....Sarah was awesome and I want to move out. Sarah made a couple encores that just kept coming and between people tried to leave. Are the main lights on yet? NO!! Sit the Fuck Down!!! I hate old people. She really was amazing and Train Wreck and Possession were WOW. Not to mention her stage set was so cool. It was a big tree and the opening song, world on fire, has a lights in the back that looked like fire so it looked the world really was on fire!!! Or at least the tree. I have also decided I hate work and would rather have a job outside than cooped up in some building looking out at the beautiful days of summer. As for moving out, well, I love my mom, but I just can't stand it at home anymore. When my dad is home I feel like I have to watch my back and watch what I say. Especially now that my family, or select members of, are figuring out my little secret. Plus I am really antsy to decorate an apartment that I can call my own. If I could find a place for like $100 that wasn't ghetto I would be so happy, I may even go up to 200 if its nice enough. But since that will never happen I guess I'll work on setting money aside for the day I can move out.And Fall Out Boy comes out in two weeks and the new Amber Pacific comes out two weeks after that!!!!!!!!!!CHECK THE NEW AMBER PACIFIC HERE: http://www.purevolume.com/amberpacificLater guys!
[...] Yet violence and the threat of violence is deeply embedded in many Christian subcultures. And it’s important to realize how much this is affecting the culture we inhabit. These are dangerous times; we live in a country dominated by fundamentalist Christians, who react violently to a fundamentalist Muslim enemy, and now the Catholics have a fundamentalist Pope. To engage and encompass paradox and conflict in such an increasingly polarized world is frightening but necessary; further polarization leads only to scenarios such as that which Hitler created.
Love your blog, very glad I stumbled across it. I just read your informative post on the Fatima apparitions. I wasn't aware of Ratzinger's involvement with that. Nor do I know for sure whether this directly relates to that, but if you're interested in the profane aspects of how Marian apparition scams work, look into the Medjugorje apparitions in Bosnia. It's a heady confluence of sex tourism, charismatics, crooked Vatican bankers, renegade Franciscans, and ethnic cleansing by the Croatian Ustasha (Nazis). You can google up all sorts of info on it from various perspectives, it is another case of it being pretty much out in the open but seldom discussed.

Ratzinger is also the author of a May 2001 letter to bishops stating that the "Crimine solicitationies" law (regarding strict secrecy in sex abuse cases) is still in effect.

Yow! Ratzinger sounds like exactly who needs to be pope. Fascism is en vogue and the ancient accounts of the empire itself cannot be left to chance. We are on the brink of an extremely dark age and all global meme distributors are aligning themselves for battle. With or without us, everybody's gonna be at the party -- including us, figuratively hogtied, blindfolded and our tongues cut out so we don't miss out.

The mental ports of the people of planet Earth are now open for an update. In another age we might call this a social vacuum. Right now there is a telltale argument going on about just how draconian and severely limiting that update must be -- how much poison should be released. I imagine divine hackers clawing at each other to be the one to provide the next routine. Unless of course, they can live in a state of alliance and just hash things out at a secret conference table.

We can always look on the bright side, at least some of the propaganda we'll get will be cloaked in the ineffable ancientness of the holy church and not the "if the judge should sway from popular techno-puritanistic sentiment I say. . . ahem. . . YEEEHAW kill the faggits!"

The time to look at the bright side, as I was saying, is now. It's not that bad -- yet. We have to preserve civility. We must document what happens here so that we can pass it on. A flip of the social poles is about to occur. A flip when the medium, jacked-in mind will begin resorting to bonafide, permanent, barbarity.

It will be spectator sport.
