In Defense of Ramtha?
Yesterday I got an email from somebody who was upset over what I’d written about Ramtha several months ago. Until I set up that side blog where I answer email, I’d like to reply to it here. In case you’ve forgotten, or are too lazy to click on the link, Ramtha is supposed to be this 35,000 year old god/king from Atlantis (I think) who happens to have chosen a Northwestern housewife, JZ Knight, to appear through as his channeler.
you reported on Ramtha but didn’t really listen to what JZ said how does that work if you act like you have heard it all before how will you ever learn about something that is real
First of all, my friend, I wasn’t actually “reporting” on Ramtha/Knight at all in that post. If you go back and actually read the substance of it, it was more about analyzing the very-successful business practices of JZ Knight and comparing her diversification to other cultural producers.
Second of all, learn some damn punctuation.
Third, who cares what Ramtha teaches? I’m smart enough to know that it’s just your standard New Age crap. I listened to Knight for an hour or more, and read several articles from a variety of sources about her and her Atlantean god/king. I don’t need to sit through a week’s worth of lectures or join any retarded cult in order to make an informed decision as to whether or not something is (1) bullshit, or (2) worth my time at all.
Fourth, even if JZ Knight had anything interesting or especially new to say, I’d be fucking flim-flammed if I’m going to sit down and wade through a web site with little fucking animated sparklies twinkling in New Age harmony around a logo that promises me entry to the “Quintessential School of the Mind“.
Your comments remind me of when people always make that stupid assertion that they will “try anything once.” You’ll try anything once huh? Would you go swimming with a shark if you were bleeding? Would you fuck your neighbor’s dog in the ass? Would you let somebody cut your eyeball out? Of course not. Because you have judgement. You have the ability to look at something and realize, “Hey, this is a stupid idea!” or “Oh well, this isn’t for me.” Okay, well maybe you don’t have that ability. But I sure as fuck do. And I plan to keep using it, even if it means my life has significantly less New Age sparklies in it.

Nice site–I came for Gannon and stayed for Ramtha. What the Bleep? was one of the most clowning movies that came out last year. It played in the “alternative” cinemas for close to three months; an unheard of amount of time for almost any movie nowadays, especially such an obscure “documentary” (or indocumentary rather). It was total New Age propaganda, with horrible acting, bad jokes, and Ramtha–there were some redeeming qualities, but Ramtha’s presence gave everything away. The whole time I’m sitting there wondering who the fuck this lady is? Then, the credits: channeler of Ramtha. That made too much sense; I could go on for quite a long time, but I’s got things to do. Peace!
