Zappa on Christianity
Just happened across this Frank Zappa quote from a May 1993 Playboy interview:
The essence of Christianity is told us in the Garden of Eden history. The fruit that was forbidden was on the Tree of Knowledge. The subtext is, All the suffering you have is because you wanted to find out what was going on. You could be in the Garden of Eden if you had just kept your fucking mouth shut and hadn’t asked any questions.”
I just thought I’d post this as a little bait for all the people who’ve been going off on us for asking questions about the new pope.

I saw Zappa live in Ottawa years ago. He came on stage in his underwear and danced and sang and had a great time. Some of the audience were bureaucratic types from the government. I was young and loved it, but they were freaking trying to be cool.
Ah, my youth! Zappa made you laugh. He made you laugh at yourself and all the pretensions one has. He had a cutting edge joy. Thanks for the memories. It is hard to find that joy nowadays.
