Washington Times: Benedict abused as ‘nazi pope’
Note: I keep trying to give the “Nazi Pope” stuff a rest, but I keep coming across new stuff that sets me off. I swear I’ll lay off it soon though, so just hang in there…
This is simply the stupidest most white-washed article I’ve read in quite some time, courtesy of the Washington Times, Benedict abused as ‘nazi pope’.
First of all, I think it’s funny they use the word “abused” in light of Ratzinger’s past record on covering up child abuse in the Church. More than anything though, the article is a rabid attack against “bloggers” who are questioning the symbolic importance of the popes past. It’s yet another pathetic attempt to reign public opinion in, and remind people that it’s the media which is the source of truth, not those nasty uncivilized bloggers.
This article would have seemed especially crazy were it posted at the website of a different news outlet though. As it stands, the Washington Times is actually owned by none other than Sun Myung Moon. If you’re not familiar with him, he is head of the Unification Church, and has proclaimed himself messiah.
Moon announced that he would save everyone on Earth as he had saved the souls of even such murderous dictators as Hitler and Stalin — who had been born again through him. Moon said the reformed Hitler and Stalin vouched for him from the spirit world, calling him “none other than humanity’s Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent”.
So no wonder the Washington Times would be all upset about Benedict XVI being compared to a Nazi, since their venerable patron, Sun Myung Moon has already gone back in time and redeemed the Fuhrer himself.
