the timboucher experience

Just took a pretty good afternoon nap. Here’s the dream I had just before waking: I’m laying outside, having a sort of picnic or something on a blanket. Something I never really do, but wouldn’t at all be aversed to doing. At some point, this older man, maybe 55 comes by, and without saying anything steals the blanket and runs off. It is a green blanket that I have, one of my favorite. The man looks just like my friend Brian from highschool’s father. I haven’t thought of this man in years, but he certainly always seemed a little odd. In any event, I bolt up after the man and chase him for blocks and blocks yelling at him things like, “Hey asshole! Give me back my fucking blanket!” But he does not relent. I redouble my pursuit. Many people from the neighborhood watch us perplexed, but I chase on. There’s no way I’m surrendering this blanket for no reason, let alone to a thief. I close in on the man just as he stops running by these two old ladies. He seems to know them, stops and drops the blanket. He walks a few feet farther and pretends to be doing something with the lawn. I realize this is his house, and the ladies know him. I pick up the blanket and continue towards the man, cursing at him. He doesn’t respond and seems to not even notice me. I then finally just stop and ask him why he stole it. He says nothing. I begin walking off and say, “Look man, I’m just giving you a chance to be a human here. Asshole.” I also indicate that I know he stole this blanket once before (although details on this now seem fuzzy at best). He remains silent and I turn around and walk home. Gotta protect what’s mine, I guess.
