Pop Tarot - The Governator

Rolling soon up a mountain near you, The Governator!

The Governator is a pretty on-target update of the traditional Tarot card, The Chariot. LearnTarot.com has a great description of this card:

Picture Julius Caesar riding his chariot triumphantly into Rome. He has defeated his enemies and conquered vast, new lands. This is the spirit of the Chariot. Card 7 represents the victories that are possible through willpower and self-mastery. A military image is appropriate for the Chariot because this card stands for the strengths associated with combat - discipline, grit, determination and assertiveness.

The Chariot represents the positive aspects of the ego. A healthy ego is one that is strong and self-assured. It knows what it wants and how to get it. We can get annoyed at someone whose ego is too healthy, but we often turn to that person to lead us through difficult moments. We know he or she won’t be wishy-washy.

In readings, the Chariot often appears when hard control is or could be in evidence. At its best, hard control is not brutal, but firm and direct. It is backed up by a strong will and great confidence. The Chariot can mean self-control or control of the environment. This card also represents victory. There are many types of wins; the Chariot’s is of the win-lose type. Your success comes from beating the competition to become number one. Such moments are glorious in the right circumstances.

If you’re having trouble seeing how this relates to Arnold Schwarzenegger, try on a couple quotes from his youth on for size:

(1976) “At that point, I didn’t think about money. I thought about the fame, about just being the greatest. I was dreaming about being some dictator of a country or some savior like Jesus . . .

(1977) I was always dreaming about very powerful people, dictators and things like that. I was just always impressed by people who could be remembered for hundreds of years, or even, like Jesus, be for thousands of years remembered.”

(1977) “I admire Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it.”

In this card, we see the Governator riding atop his yellow Humvee H2 chariot up the side of a mountain. Did you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger was the driving force that brought this ridiculously wasteful military vehicle into civilian markets? He convinced the CEO of the company to sell them to average schmoes with hopelessly small weiners but rock hard wallets. The Governator was given either the prototype or the first off the line of both the original Hummer and the H2.

There’s also this whole thing about how a “certain faction” has plans to put Arnie into the White House. The most recent thing I heard on that (from Alex Jones, I think) was that they might call a Constitutional Convention on something like gay marriage, but while that’s happening, introduce and quietly pass an amendment which would allow Arnie, a foreign born citizen, to become Governator of the American Empire.

The danger in this card should be evident by now. It depicts raw power used to move relentlessly forward. Sometimes this is extremely valuable, but taken too far (which it almost always is) can become incredibly destructive. In this card, this is referenced by the battery of phallic missiles in the background. We also see below the “Rise of the Machines” which is made possible by the Governator card (similar to the inauthentic automation of the Corpsoration). Closely aligned with this card is the One-Eyed Willy card. Both feature a creative and destructive potential, but in slightly different (if allied) directions.

I always got more of a ‘feminine’ vibe from the Chariot trump - the wheel and the symbology esp. in the Crowley deck is more towards the Graal or receptive nature, don’t focus on the rider, but the vehicle itself - the chariot.
