I guess they finally nabbed that guy in Atlanta who was hiding out on top of a construction crane. I’m not terribly interested in the story, but I think this news item about it is rather bizarre:

A 56-hour standoff with a homicide suspect perched on a construction crane ended peacefully early Saturday when police shocked him with a stun gun as he reached for a cup of water, authorities said.

How can they say with a straight face that this ended peacefully? They electrocuted him! That is an intentional act of violence which leaves its victim totally incapacitated. Nothing peaceful about it. I guess they’re only saying it ended peacefully because no cops or bystanders were hurt.
