the timboucher experience

I had one of those dreams this morning that goes on and on, and that you can return to even after waking up. It was a “quest” dream - a type which I often have. In this one, I uncovered a startling secret. It involved the Knights Templar who had gone to the New World after their persecution in the early 1300’s. Actually, looking back, the plotline of this is loosely similar to the movie National Treasure (which I liked, even though it was cheesy and totally throwaway). Anyway, the Templars in my dream had sailed all over the world after their persecution depositing stone artifacts. Each one contained a secret or a key or something which would either lead you to the next one, or taken collectively together unlock their vast treasure.

Somehow I stumbled across this in my research, although gradually. What I actually found was the secret location of some historically important dead bodies and other artifacts. A man approached me after I discovered this, and offered me a vast sum of money to return these items safely to his care. He gave me a block of pure gold bullion as down payment. So I organized an expedition by boat to get to this location and retrieve these artifacts. But once I got there, I realized somebody had beaten me to the punch. This somehow initiated a full-on search for the seven Templar stones. These were of course carefully guarded secrets, and vast networks of conspiratorial Masons (modern day Templars) blocked my path.

I remember distinctly managing to find one of the most important stones, along with one or two lesser stones throughout my voyages. It wasn’t enough to unlock the whole treasure, but it was enough to prevent some other hidden opponent from doing so. At least for the time being.

Whatever this dream may mean in terms of occult/conspiracy symbolism, I knew even within the dream that it was about the research I am doing. It was about me delving really deeply into ancient mysteries and unlocking them, and being both rewarded & persecuted for doing so. But more than anything else, it was freakin’ cool.
