i was watching yu-gi-oh with my boys the other night and i realised the battles for power there are similar to the stories in the bible and of buddha.it is a struggle of the will and utilising metaphysical weapons and skills.it is the mind that must become trained and strong if we are to succeed.
choose to be happy for no reason.

i'm really enjoying all this apocaplypse / tarot / archetype stuff. this post reminded me of tool's "aemina", and how on the surface it's about a "real world" apocalypse, but somehow the song inspires me to take personal responsibility for my own transformation.

and from toolband.com newsletter dec2001:

"... When you are up in 10=1 or thereabouts, and see that dog-faced demons are only illusions (with the rest of Maya), there is no sense in keeping them out. Once you realize the Universe as Infinite L.V.X., why, to Hell with the Circle-let it rush in!.."

Isn't this like confronting your shadow in Jungian terms? The demons come up, but knowing they are illusions of yourself, you can stand up to them and transcend their fear and temptiations. I think if we don't look at our unconscious demons which arise when negative emotions come up, then we lose out learning something significant.
