Are you a meth-head?

Wow, I’ve been so mixed up in battling chaos magickians that I almost forgot there are other people who hate me too! Just received this lovely email from Connie:

are you a meth head?most of your stuff sounds like you do.i think your a coward.jesus is not your tool. your mixed up.repent and ask god for wisdom.for wide and easy is the path to hell, many are they that go that way,but the path to heaven is difficult and hard to follow.dont be afraid of those who can kill the body, instead fear GOD who can cast souls into punishmentor hell!

Connie, you think I’m a coward, while you’re sitting here accusing a total stranger of being a meth addict? Nice. If Jesus is not my tool, does that mean he’s yours and nobody else is allowed to use him? Guess what, I did ask God for wisdom, and you’re looking at it.

Jesus, just how many fifteen year old evangelists are there, anyhow?

Congratulations! I find it exceptionally satisfying to get the automatons all upset. I’ve been working up my own blog, and I cordially invite you to take a look. I’ve been following your blog for a few months (I contributed Bushomet to the Pop Tarot). You and Jeff at RI sucked me into the blogsphere, and for that I thank you.

The guitarist for Korn recently quit speed (and Korn) and found Jesus

    ——————–

An audio recording of former KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch addressing the congregation this morning (Feb. 27) at the Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, California regarding his departure from the group and his decision to dedicate his life to Christianity has been posted online. Download the audio in two parts: Part#1 (6.55 MB), Part#2 (11.9 MB).

In other news, an unconfirmed report at Christdot.org suggests that Welch “has been receiving death threats” since announcing his departure from KORN. As a result, security was reportedly on hand during Brian’s appearance at the church, where Welch spoke directly to many of his longtime fans.

In an interview with MTV News earlier this week, Brian said that he wasn’t certain what he was going to say during his speech. “Man, when I get up there onstage, it’s going to be me just letting things flow,” he said. “I have no idea what I’m going to say, it’s just going to come out,” he said. “I mean, I’m going to be like a kid up there. Because that’s really what I am now. I’m a baby Christian.”

Money quote from the comments in the above link:

I’m surprised more people are honing in on the fact that he’s STILL coming down from a two-year meth high, as he basically admits. If he were just some regular musician who found a new path, that’s great, but he’s still an addict and a junkie and this is his latest version of rehab (he admits that “regular” rehab has failed him numerous times). On those tapes, he’s babbling and incoherent, just like a speed freak — I’m gonna build skate parks and churches and all my money belongs to god. Yeah, whatever dude. Hope Head finds the peace he’s looking for and if religion causes him to put down the crack pipe, then more power to him. But I’d bet a week’s salary that his REAL god is meth and that he’ll be worshipping at the alter again in no time. It’s sickening to me how the worst fuck ups in society “find god” once they hit rock bottom. Also, has anyone noticed that religious people and speed freaks are basically the same — there’s an invisible man in the sky and he talks to me and tells me what to do and I listen. Uh, okay.

What I think is telling is the huge number of born again folk whose stories start that way. Everyone says, “hallelujah, Jesus saved him,” never, “man, look what too many drugs gets you into.” lol
