I was just checking out the line-up on Coast to Coast AM for tonight. Haven’t really listened to it in a while, and it sometimes gets kind of dull. Here’s what I think is a good example:
After researching ancient Hebrew texts, Irish author Patrick Heron contends the ancient race of Nephilim built the pyramids of Giza, which will eventually fulfill prophecy as described in the book of Revelation.
*Yawn*
Is there anybody who hasn’t heard of these theories yet? I’m frankly tired of them. I don’t know anything about Heron or his work, and who knows, maybe it’s great. Although his website proclaims: “AT LAST: THE RIDDLE OF THE PYRAMIDS IS SOLVED!” How many more times will the “riddle of the pyramids” be solved “at last.” I mean, the pyramids are cool. Nobody’s gonna deny that. And the idea that the Nephilim, the Watchers, the Annunaki, the Grail Kings, etc came down from space and seeded culture is mythologically very interesting. But it just seems like there are so many million other interesting ideas in conspiracy, the occult and counter-culture. Why don’t we ever hear about any of those? It’s all this same old washed up, endlessly rehashed stuff from the 70’s, without a lot of new insight or perspective. So the Nephilim wore Nike instead of Reebok? So they were left-handed instead of right-handed? So what?
I think it’s time to take the training wheels off these topics, and take them out into the open road. Let’s quit piddling around parking lots with the same old theories reheated in the microwave of speculation. Am I totally out of whack here, or is anybody else bored to tears by this stuff?

yup, tired of it. hugely so. the whole ‘ancient gods were aliens’ thing is like almost funny now; it’s as much of a canard as the whole ‘planet x’ thing.
same way with all of the ‘atlantis discovered at last!’ garbage. seems like a new ‘atlantis’ is discovered every frickin’ day.
I know, I’ve been hearing this stuff since I was in like first grade. Anybody who thinks this shit is somehow new or revolutionary needs to… needs to… shit, I don’t know what they need to do.
It’s also why I started to shy away from the archons=aliens thing. Like it’s sort of a neat spin, but ultimately no different from the Annunaki stuff. And I frankly don’t see the need for a “Unified Theory” in this area. It’s goofy
it all ends up being sociology. but that is of endless fascination to me. more descriptions of shadows on the wall, yes, but we must continue to describe what we see until something else comes along. what else can we do?
On the pyramid topic, there’s been some really good work done by Dr. Joseph Davidovits, a French chemist who has put together a convincing argument that the Egyptians of that time were true masters of the art of masonry, and that the pyramids were built with limestone-based concrete. He’s even been able to reconstruct and demonstrate the formula they used. One of his associates was on Coast to Coast with George Noory maybe three years ago, and it was frankly one of the most persuasive cases I’ve ever heard anyone make on that show. But despite how much sense it makes (it is the most logical solution, if you think about it), this theory is not very popular with either mainstream or alternative Egyptologists. For the mainstream bunch, it is much too imaginative to think that the ancient Egyptians may have had a culture that was unique and sophisticated in it’s own right, capable of accomplishing at least a few things we would have trouble doing or understanding now. They are locked into the idea that older cultures are just simpler, stupider, and more violent versions of us. For the alternative crowd, on the other hand, this explanation isn’t nearly exotic enough - no ancient astronauts, no antigravity, no ultrasonic drills, no crystal-powered levitation… just a high degree of skill, craftsmanship, and imagination, which apparently isn’t good enough for them, which is ironic cosidering that if we ever were to actually enter a “New Age”, these are just the sort of traits that would be responsible for taking us there.
skill, craftsmanship and imagination. yes but where is the evidence of art in the structure. not a sculpture, carving or marking of any sort in the entire building……humans mark thier work with decorations. the only time we don`t is with weapons and other pure tools.
I got in a lotta trouble on a camping trip once for badmouthing Sitchin…I don’t know what drives otherwise thinking people to buy into this elaborate weirdness (I even know one who thinks his daddy is a nephilim. He can’t seem to explain why he’s under six fett…lol)
