Modifying Trackback Appearance
This is a technical question to anybody who might be a Wordpress wizard reading this. Do you have any idea how to modify the template of how a trackback appears in my comments section? I don’t need to separate trackbacks from comments. I just want them to look different to prevent confusion.
Right now it seems to follow a template something like:
Blog Name >> Post Title says:[...] post excerpt [...]
It looks kind of messy I think and is annoying to sift out when you’re reading through comments. I’d like something that simply says:
Trackback by: Blog Name >> Post Title
Or it could be that in place of the “[…] excerpt […]” in the example above. That’s probably a lot simpler. Can’t seem to spot where to edit that in comments.php, so maybe it’s someplace else? It looks like it’s controlled perhaps by wp-trackbacks.php and the way that functions is to boil down the trackback information and mash it into the parameters of the template coding for regular comments. Not sure how to solve this. Any tips would be great. Maybe I will have to use one of these hacks to separate them out from regular comments.
