Zen Disinformation Agents
I don’t know what happened, but Carlos is just on a freakin’ roll with this conspiracy/religion stuff. The goodness kicks into high gear here when he points out that “we’re using words to try and describe secret illusions, so in the zen sense we’re all disinfo agents”, and that maybe from that perspective we ought to try to be “noinfo” agents. Excellent turnaround on a frequent cop-out that conspiracy theorists indulge in when things aren’t going their way.
Here are some other highlights:
Ok I’ll stop trying to be clever and start being productive. If Tim says conspiracy theory is a religion, embrace it, if for nothing else but the tax-exempt status.
I hereby declare that the phrase conspiracy theory no longer exists. It’s a Conspiracy. Everyone is a Conspirator, whether they know it or not. We’re in on it. Are you?
Involve the Audience. The Religion is based on a mythological Quest to reveal Who Breathes Together. Your Facts, Hypotheses and Smoking Guns are religious artifacts to be treated with suspicion regarding their authenticity. Adopt no doctrine but Why? and So?
Because open source is what you’re trying to do. Create in the minds of the populace a self-organizing, self-programming, massively distributed revelatory device. Call it The Unblinking Eye.
Your real weapons are your actions (which speak for themselves), and your beliefs. I don’t believe in money, pass it on. Shit like that. The economy doesn’t exist. Market forces? What market? There is no war on terror, what are you raving on about?
The whole point of the “history’s actors” bit is that the burden of proof has been placed on us. We have to “prove” our “theories”. Well, I say we don’t. All we have to do is move faster than they are. Then they will have to go back to reacting to us.
Convey this with as few words and as many Redefined Symbols as possible. Be openly deceptive. I’m afraid it is a spiritual pissing contest. So beat them at their own game. I know it can’t be done. Not with that attitude.
Conspiracy. Be a part of it.
He also tacked on a really awesome addendum to this elsewhere:
so now i’m thinking: a mythical, decentralised, open source story system that uses anomaly research as the driving force of personal transformation. anomalies are identified by archetype, digested, repackaged and manifest as symbolic entities that trick dominant systems (which by their nature attempt to supress the anomalies that are the source of your enlightenment) into destroying themselves.
can that be said in five words or less?
Can it? What the hell is Carlos trying to say here? It sounds awesome, whatever it is. And does this somehow tie into what I’ve been talking about in relation to the Essential Human Brand? It seems like it must. Great fuel for discussion, great food for thought. I’m gonna be thinking about this stuff really deeply.
PS. I created that little graphic in the upper right hand corner of this post as a sort of first step towards visually depicting the “positive” aspects of conspiracy, and/or retooling, rebranding it for a new generation of cultural usage. Anybody wants to play around with the graphic concept, please feel free to. It’s not like I did much more than combine a smiley face with your typical eye in the triangle. Consider it the Unblinking Eye.

all info is someones disinfo. most of the commentary about 9/11, as an example, tends to be opinion dressed up in seemingly factual wording. the churches do this with the bible(s). the king james version is a great conspiracy. gnosticism and nag hammedi is a process of undoing all that conspiring. but why go to the bother of putting ancient writing in clay pots and burying them? why not burn them? then they`re gone forever.

Well, better late than never. why the fuck do you guys always have the best conversation when I’m working?
anyway:

” All researchers are trying to get to the root of what they feel is reality. Usually at some point they simply decide what reality is, and make what they’re seeing conform to the ontological assumptions they’ve adopted. Anything that doesn’t fit is paranoia, disinformation or whatever… In any case, this process hides the action where you made the decision. And all the relentless poring over details and content hides the fact that you’re reducing things to a level you’re comfortable with. Even if ‘comfortable’ is a state of raging psychotic paranoia.
But check your head, bizzatch, cause there aint no ‘reality’ out there. It’s all you. Human beings receive something on the order of several trillion bits of information every second. You know how many of those we use consciously? Like sixteen, or so. There’s a ways to go before you’re gonna be dealing with any ‘reality’ up in here. Life sucks. Get a helmet. ”

have you read snow crash by neal stephenson? amongst many other things he examines nam-shubs which are like ancient babylonian reality-programming words. there’s a lot of stuff about it on deoxy.org
that’s what human was getting at re mckenna, right?
and this from thereabouts also:
playing with fire, no?
zac, cool post. get a helmet! unreal.
and thanks tim for being so appreciative of our contributions.
(love the logo! it looks like global neighbourhood watch just turned the tables on the total information awareness office, or whatever the fuck they were pretending to be.)
we’re happily watching, everything you do!

In 1787, the musician, physicist and jurist, Ernst Chladni laid the foundations for the study of acoustics, the science of sound. Among Chladni´s successes was finding a way to make visible what sound waves generate. With the help of a violin bow which he played perpendicularly across the edge of flat plates covered with sand, he produced patterns and shapes today called Chladni figures. Chladni demonstrated that sound actually does affect physical matter and that it has the potential for creating geometric patterns.
i read somewhere that the letters of the hebrew alphabet, when pronounced properly, affect matter in similar ways to the chaladni figures. jimmy page has made mention of sound affecting matter in unusual ways.
