They Stole My Book

This morning I had a dream that somebody pillaged my website and published major excerpts from it as a book, and that they were making a good bit of money off of it. It was weird, because the supposed author name they were using was John something. Maybe the last name started with an “A”, I don’t know. The name “Amado” jumps out at me, which means something along the line of “beloved” going back to the Latin root. Yet the title of the book had my actual name in it. They had even set up a website for the book, with pictures of me on it and everything. The URL started with a “V” but I don’t remember what it was. Anyway, I stormed around in anger once I found out, and started thinking about how to exercise my legal rights against this person who had pirated my work. But I also remember thinking distinctly in the dream that I was sort of inspired by the fact that they were making money off my work. And that it meant that I could probably do the same if I played my cards right. I don’t remember how it ended really. But I take this mysterious guy who started printing books under my name as sort of a projected thought form of myself. I’ve been considering this exact thing in a very serious way in the past few weeks. And it’s almost like I’ve thought about it so much that I’ve externalized an aspect of it which is now separate from me, and which is it’s own thing. I woke from the dream feeling like rather than being upset about what had happened with the dream publication, I ought to take it as a sign to move forward with my plans.

was the animal spirit a raccon?

I had a series of close encounters with raccooons a couple of weeks ago right after doing a major ritual in which i was praying for success & inspiration

anywho i went outside for a smoke afterwards and found 3 rooting and snuffling around in my neighbors garbage - i dashed inside for digital cam and took a bunch of close-up pix which were awesome their eyes were glowing like the WOlfen

next night, surfing the net read 3 articles about ‘coons as power animals

went outside for a smoke again and one practically kissed me it was so close (climbing over a fence)

raccons: brazen shameless bandit who wear a mask, disguised, curious, fearless, great paw/hand coordination.

They have a lot of knowledge about identity/identies/discguises and their uses

also as “night critters” they announce messages from the unconscious too

Success, inspiration, right on. Definitely the arenas I’ve been operating in mentally. Raccoon, yeah that was the closest thing to it. Although it was like less sneaky than a raccoon. Broader, brown all over. You should send me the digital photos. You got any links on the raccoon articles?

Primarily nocturnal, raccoons travel in small groups of one or two families foraging for fruits, vegetables, and small animals. They are excellent swimmers although they feel more at home in trees. Raccoons are often seen sloshing their hands and food in water before eating. Symbolically hands represent holding or receiving. If raccoon appears to you it might be asking you to let go of a situation, person or habit. On the other hand it could be telling you to reach out and embrace the gifts being offered to you by Great Spirit.

Raccoons are often found sitting high in trees. From this vantage point they can observe everything around them and see danger long before it arrives. Extremely curious it leaves no stone unturned. Curiosity has its advantages and its disadvantages. Following ones curiosity can open doorways into new and exciting territory, although curiosity applied without caution can lead to trouble.

These masked bandits are persistent robbers and do not tire easily. They are often spotted around camp grounds foraging for food. Because of its masked face the raccoon holds the energies of disguise, magic, and secrecy. Hiding behind its mask it can take on several identities at once and play out different roles. Seldom does it reveal its true identity. It loves adventure and leads us down a road to new discoveries. Shape shifting is part of its magic. Those with this totem do well in professions relating to the theater.

Raccoons have an air of indifference around them when caught in the act of a robbery, although if provoked they can become ferocious. Strong and muscular the raccoon can hold its ground in most all situations and teaches us to do the same.

The raccoon is a powerful ally and holds the gift of transformation. When it appears in a persons life the many faces of self are about to be revealed.
